Selenite/Gypsum is a widespread calcium sulfate hydrate that is found in a number of forms. It is usually found white or colorless, but impurities tint it light brown, gray, yellow, green, or orange. Selenite is also found in parallel, fibrous variety with a silky luster, called satin spar.
